We prioritize financing projects that incorporate energy-efficient designs, low-carbon building materials, and sustainable construction practices. Many of our financed developments feature green roofs, LED lighting, and high-efficiency HVAC systems, helping to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

Through our ESG screening process, we assess each investment for environmental risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with our broader sustainability goals. Timbercreek also supports retrofitting legacy assets to improve energy performance and reduce emissions, thereby fostering climate-friendly objectives and enhancing long-term asset value.

Governance

The ESG Committee at Timbercreek plays a central role in advancing our ESG strategy across the organization. Composed of representatives from key business units—including Legal, Credit, Portfolio Management, HR and Investor Relations — the Committee ensures that sustainability is meaningfully integrated into our investment approach and day-to-day operations.

Its core objectives include:

  • Aligning ESG initiatives with Timbercreek’s governance standards and broader strategic priorities
  • Ensuring ESG KPIs, targets, and action plans are measurable, actionable, and support long-term value creation
  • Monitoring market trends, regulatory developments, and stakeholder expectations to stay ahead of emerging ESG risks and opportunities
  • Identifying and sharing best practices across teams to foster innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability performance

The committee also supports Timbercreek’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and impact—ensuring our ESG efforts remain relevant and compelling to both internal and external stakeholders.

ESG Committee

Our ESG Committee comprises six senior leaders who provide strategic oversight to the implementation and evolution of our Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives. Together, these members represent a cross-functional leadership team with a blend of legal, credit, portfolio management, human resources and investor relations experience, reinforcing Timberceek’s commitment to integrating ESG principles at every level of decision-making. Guided by our ESG Policy, the Committee ensures that our practices align with our commitment to sustainability, ethical governance, and social responsibility.
