Blair Cowper-Smith serves as the Chair on the Timbercreek Capital Inc. Advisory Committee.
Mr. Cowper-Smith is the principal of Canadian advisory firm Erin Park Business Solutions. Previously, Mr. Cowper-Smith was Corporate Affairs Officer of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) where he also served as a member of the Senior Executive Team from 2008 to 2017 where his responsibilities included regulatory affairs, law and governance. Prior to joining OMERS, he was a Senior Partner at McCarthy Tetrault LLP, where his practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure, governance and private equity.
Mr. Cowper-Smith’s current or prior board appointments include Porter Airlines, 407 ETR, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, the Global Strategic Investment Alliance and Face the Future Foundation. He has served on the Public Policy Committee of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance and on the Securities Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission. Mr. Cowper-Smith regularly delivers lectures on governance at the Directors College at McMaster University.
Mr. Cowper Smith holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and holds his ICD.D.
David Leith serves as a Member on the Timbercreek Capital Inc. Advisory Committee.
David Leith is a Director of RF Capital Group. He served as Lead Director of Hudson’s Bay Company until March 2020. From 2009 until 2017 he was the Chair of the Board of Manitoba Telcom Services Inc. (MTS/Allstream) until the company’s acquisition by Bell Canada. Mr. Leith was also the inaugural Chair of the Board of the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), which provides fund management services to clients in the broader public sector in Ontario, from 2016 to 2019. Mr. Leith has also served as a Director of Yellow Media Inc., a Trustee of TransGlobe Apartment REIT and as a Director of the Ontario Lands and Infrastructure Corporation (Infrastructure Ontario). He was also a member of the Expert Advisory Panel overseeing the sale of a portion the Province of Ontario’s interest in Hydro One Inc.
Mr. Leith spent over 25 years with CIBC World Markets, based in Toronto and London, England, and has extensive experience in debt and equity markets, government finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Until 2009, he was Deputy Chairman and Managing Director and head of CIBC World Markets’ Investment, Corporate and Merchant Banking activities. From 2009 until 2011 he served as Special Advisor to the federal Minister of Natural Resources on the restructuring of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL).
Mr. Leith has been active in the charitable sector and has been a Director of the Children’s Aid Society, Chair of the Bridgepoint Health Foundation and a Director of Sinai Health System.
Mr. Leith holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an M.A. from Trinity College, Cambridge University.
David Feather serves as a Member on the Timbercreek Capital Inc. Advisory Committee. Mr. Feather is Chairman of The Peter Cundill Foundation, a Bermuda-based purpose trust with a mission to improve the wellbeing of young people. In addition, Mr. Feather is a Director of Laurus Investment Counsel, a member of the Board of Governors of McMaster University, and a Board Member at Raising the Village.
Mr. Feather’s current advisory board appointments include Wellington-Altus Holdings Inc., JC Clark, and Sionna Investment Managers.
Mr. Feather has previously been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and was the 2007 recipient of the Wayne Fox Distinguished Alumni Award for DeGroote School of Business.
Mr. Feather has over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry and is currently the Chairman of Russell Investments Canada Ltd., where he served as President and CEO from 2010 to 2017. Previously Mr. Feather was with Mackenzie Financial Corp. from 1991 to 2010 and was President of Mackenzie Financial Services Inc. from 2002 to 2010. Mr. Feather has also worked in the Economic Strategy Group at Ernst & Young, and as a Senior Financial Analyst at Bank of Montreal.
Mr. Feather graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1985, and an MBA in 1989.
Michelle Savoy serves as a Member on the Timbercreek Capital Inc. Advisory Committee.
Ms. Savoy is a corporate director serving on the boards of Laurentian Bank of Canada(LB-T), Pizza Pizza Royalty Corp(PZA-T) and Nav Canada.
With 25+ years of experience in financial services and capital markets industries, Ms. Savoy held several senior executive positions including President of Capital Guardian Canada, the Canadian arm of The Capital Group of Companies, a global investment management organization. Her earlier experience includes a brief stint as senior consultant with Spencer Stuart and Associates, Inc. and more than a decade with CIBC World Markets where she ultimately held the position of Managing Director, Global Head of Fixed Income Distribution.
Ms. Savoy is Vice-Chair of the UHN Foundation Investment committee. She is an active philanthropist having served on several charitable boards and advisory committees.
Ms. Savoy earned a BBA from University of Ottawa and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors education program for directors and is an Institute Certified Director.
